‘Self-Inflicted’
I dream of more than not being alive.
I dream I never existed,
so I could never have died.
I visit dead me,
buried inside,
wishing me instead of him—
an inseparable tie.
I dream I go back
to tell him the truth:
"The decisions that I've made
split us in two.
I sacrificed your life
for what I pursued.
Now they'll remember me
instead of remembering you."
