UNTITLED
My sun’s come up,
I’m drenched in gold—
that means I’m running late!
It was just a moment,
I placed it down,
but Time rolled right away.
I wrote to you, almost at 2.
You must have seen at 8.
Time rolled back around,
my sun’s come down.
My daylight’s drained away.
I think of you.
The light goes thin.
I think it’s getting late.
Still no word from you.
I’ve finally fallen fast asleep—
and you’re finally wide awake.
I can feel it:
Time and you, slipping through
my fingers both the same.
I dreamed a dream,
I spoke with Time,
and tried to plead my case.
But Time is deaf,
and Time is blind—
and Time will never wait.
And although I dream it true,
neither will you.
You’re half a world away.
